Responsibilities:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Physician Assistants work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses provide primary health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. APRN’s assess and manage common acute and chronic illnesses, consult, and make referrals to physicians and other members of the health care team as appropriate. Provision of care includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting, and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents and treatments, nonpharmacological therapies, teaching and counseling individuals, families, and groups. As part of their comprehensive responsibilities, PAs conduct physical exams, diagnose, treat illnesses, order, and interpret tests, and counsel on preventive health care. Within the physician-PA relationship, physician assistants exercise autonomy in medical decision-making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school for Nursing and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, currently licensed in the State of Ohio as an RN and Advanced Practice RN, CNP and BLS certifications required. Or a graduate of an approved AMA Physician Assistant Program, currently licensed in the State of Ohio as a Physician Assistant, previous experience in an Urgent Care and BLS certified. National Board of Medical Examiner certification or Board eligible is preferred.
