What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook/Nutrition Services Aide Full Time 67 hrs/two week pay period First Shift w/weekend and holiday rotation position at HCH brand?
A cook prepares and serves food for hospital patients, guests, customers, and employees. The cook must follow prescribed diet orders, follow recipes, adjusts menu as needed for substitutions and follow safe food handling guidelines. The cook is responsible for unlocking/locking the department, recording temperatures, cleaning, and sanitizing their work areas, completing assigned responsibilities, helping with putting stock away and supervising department employees in the absence of the Nutrition Services Coordinator or Manager. Nutrition Services Aide assists with washing dishes, answering the room service phone line, delivering patient trays, food preparation, food storage, cleaning, stocking, and operating the cash register. The Nutrition Services Aide must always follow safe food handling practices. In addition, the employee must understand prescribed therapeutic and modified diets.
Must be at least 16 years of age. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos as well as write simple correspondences and speak in sentences are all required. ServSafe Certified within 6 months of employment, high school diploma or equivalent training or up to one year related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2 plus years of experience in commercial food preparation and following prescribed diets is preferred.
