What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underpayment Specialist Full Time position at HCH brand?
Responsibilities: An Underpayment Specialist is responsible for reviewing existing payer contracts and patient accounts to ensure appropriate reimbursement is obtained. Utilize the underpayment software to review underpayments or variances from insurance payers. Dispute underpayments to payers that are not paying at our contracted rate. Monitors reimbursement and denial trends to identify underpayment opportunities to increase cash collections. Responsible for claims follow-up procedures via telephone, fax, or the internet.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business administration is preferred. Prior work experience in medical billing or prior experience with insurance payer contracts and reimbursement.
