In this role, you will lead strategic initiatives to optimize cash flow and accounts receivable (AR) processes. You will drive success through strong finance and credit management strategies, implement effective collection methodologies, and promote a compassionate approach to change management that empowers the Collections and AR team. Your leadership will play a vital role in shaping our financial future.

Responsibilities:

  • Multi-Entity Leadership: Lead the collection efforts across all our business entities, CMD Electric, HCI Systems, and Control Systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving collaboration across our Accounts Receivable, Aging, and Collections teams.
  • Technology Implementation: Oversee the implementation of new IFS Software (Accounting/ERP System), focusing on Collections Reporting and Lobbies, and accurate Cash Flow Reporting.
  • Streamline AR and finance-related processes: Enhance AR cash flow and ratios by streamlining Accounts Receivable and finance processes related to AR, focusing on improved visibility in AR turnover reporting.
  • Credit Management: Implement and maintain credit limits while closely monitoring high-balance and high-risk customer accounts to manage financial risk.
  • Compliance: Navigate the complexities of multi-state business transactions and collection laws, ensuring adherence with GAAP (Accrual and WIP methods), Construction and Service-related Accounts Receivable Practices, Cash Flow and Finance SOP’s, Subcontracting, and Pre-Lim Mechanic Lien Laws, with support from our internal legal team.
    • Develop an understanding of Compliance measures that could prevent or delay customer payments and advocate for the Finance/Credit department while collaborating with other departments, including Operations, Project Management, Payroll - Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll Compliance, Human Resources, Sales Booking, Billing, Contracts, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and other accounting departments.
  • Team Management: Lead the Collections department by guiding the team in achieving strategic accounts receivable turnover, addressing collection challenges, implementing key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting collection meetings, and providing the CFO with regular updates on metrics and progress. Transform challenges into opportunities for innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Compliance Acumen: Strong knowledge of Credit/Finance KPIs, CEI, AR Ratio, DSO, Bad Debt, High-Risk Accounts, AR Functions, Retentions Receivable, GAAP, AR, AP, Subcontracting, Mechanic Lien and payment compliance measures, Job Cost, Cost Control, Sales Tax, Payroll, Prevailing Wage, multi-state labor laws, regulations, and Certified Payroll compliance standards to ensure legal and ethical Collections and Finance practices.
  • Technology Proficiency: Experience in Construction and Service Software and/or implementing and optimizing ERP technology solutions, such as Accounting, Job Costing, FP&A, ATS, Onboarding, Payroll, and/or HRIS platforms.
  • Proven Leadership: A history of successful leadership as a Finance or Accounting Leader, preferably Manager, Controller, Director, or VP, with experience in multi-entity environments.
  • Industry Expertise: Leverage your experience in electrical construction, low-voltage systems, fire life safety, and technology integration to tailor Credit and Finance strategies to the specific needs of our diverse businesses.
  • Strategic Mindset: A visionary approach to Credit and Finance, aligning people initiatives with business goals and driving improved DSO/AR Turnover prompt cash flow supporting organizational growth.
  • Exceptional Communication: Superior communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and leadership across various locations.
  • Change Leadership: The ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Credit and Finance function.

Salary Rate: 120,000
