Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & General Accounting
- Record daily financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
- Maintain accurate financial records by preparing and recording journal entries.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and credit card statements.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Assist with bank cash management, monitoring cash flow and assisting in forecasting liquidity needs.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close by preparing adjusting entries and financial statements.
Payroll & Compliance
- Assist in bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in employee compensation, deductions, and benefits.
- Prepare 1099s and assist with other compliance-related reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Budgeting & Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparing and monitoring annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Generate financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide financial data and analysis for management and administrative teams.
Audits & Process Improvement
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and financial data.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Implement best practices to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity.
Required Skills & Attributes
- Technical Accounting Skills – Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger functions.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in engineering, construction, or professional services industries.
- Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance.
- Familiarity with Deltek Ajera a plus
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of GAAP and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis tools).
