Position: Clinical Manager - Mental Health Outpatient Clinic
HCO Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and forward-thinking Clinical Manager to oversee the daily operations of our outpatient mental health clinic. This role combines leadership, clinical expertise, and a strong understanding of business operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality care while driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Management & Leadership:
Lead, supervise, and mentor clinical staff, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision of providing high-quality care. Promote a culture of accountability, productivity, and professional growth. - Operational Excellence:
Manage the balance between clinical excellence and business efficiency by overseeing clinical workflows, setting performance targets, and driving continuous improvement in operations. - Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Ensure that all clinical services meet professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals for quality care. Regularly follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and oversee case reviews and audits. - Caseload Management:
Carry a small, manageable caseload of clients, demonstrating a commitment to high-quality care while maintaining an active presence in clinical work. - Increase Clinical Productivity:
Monitor and optimize staff productivity through efficient scheduling, goal setting, and tracking clinical outcomes. Collaborate with staff to improve care processes and reduce inefficiencies. - Community Advocacy & Networking:
Act as a mental health advocate, building relationships with referral sources, community partners, and other stakeholders. Work to enhance community outreach and grow the clinic’s reputation within the local and broader mental health network. - Training & Education:
Provide ongoing education and training to clinical staff. Stay current with the latest industry practices and mental health trends to ensure the clinic remains at the forefront of mental health care. - Business & Operational Oversight:
Understand the financial and operational side of running a clinic, including budgeting, resource allocation, and staff performance. Work closely with administrative staff to ensure the clinic operates efficiently and meets business goals. - Client Engagement & Retention:
Check in regularly with clients, ensuring that their care plans are effective and addressing any concerns that arise. Work to enhance client retention and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Mental Health Professional (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) or Provisional Licensure (PLPC, PLMFT) required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead by example.
- Experience balancing high-quality clinical care with operational efficiency.
- Solid understanding of the business aspects of running a clinic, including financial management, productivity, and resource allocation.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
- Mental health advocacy experience or the ability to network within the community and with referral sources is a plus.
