What does this role do at HCPro?
The CDI Education Specialist plays a pivotal role in developing comprehensive educational content tailored to Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) initiatives. This includes crafting materials for bootcamps, webinars,
e-learning platforms, and written articles. As the primary instructor for ACDIS-sponsored CDI Bootcamps and various client engagements, the specialist delivers both virtual and live on-site instruction, fostering an interactive and engaging learning environment. Given the nature of the role, frequent travel is required to effectively serve clients and facilitate educational sessions nationwide.
What are some of the responsibilities?
- Develop educational content including written objectives, course agendas, and materials for various learning platforms such as bootcamps, webinars, and e-learning programs.
- Collaborate with peers and the CDI Education Director to update and refine course materials.
- Deliver educational instruction to clients and foster a supportive learning environment through effective instructional methods.
- Act as an in-house support resource for ACDIS-related functions, including participation in conferences, summit meetings, and other corporate events as needed.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in CDI concepts, contributing to articles, books, podcasts, and other industry-related content, while continuously seeking opportunities for professional development.
- Stay informed about current market trends, regulations, and standards within the CDI industry and actively contribute to the improvement of internal processes and procedures related to educational content development and delivery.
- Participate in ACDIS member committees upon request, such as Regulatory or Certification committees.
- Address inquiries from students and ACDIS members regarding CDI concepts.
- Contribute to sales and marketing efforts and actively participate in strategic initiatives to promote the overall success and growth of the organization.
- Represent company products at tradeshows, seminars, and other sales events.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in responding to the evolving needs of clients and the organization.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, embracing diversity and inclusion principles in all aspects of work.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance processes and procedures.

What are the knowledge and skills requirements?
- CCDS and/or CCDS-O certification.
- Registered nurse licensure or certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
- More than four years of experience in Clinical Documentation Integrity.
- Proficiency in public speaking and teaching/education.
- Ability to travel independently within the US.
- Experience in educational content development.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously under deadlines in a diverse and distributed workforce.

- Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with ICD-10-CM/PCS Code Set and Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
