This role is responsible for spearheading HCSC's enterprise data governance program and ensuring the timely and budget-compliant completion of data delivery initiatives. It involves leading a dedicated team of over 20 professionals focused on data governance and collaborating with the broader HCSC data community of approximately 2,000 members to ensure adherence to data policies and standards. Additionally, this role oversees the team responsible for managing the platforms and tools that support Data Governance efforts.
Strategy Responsibilities
- Develop, communicate, and drive the adoption of data governance policies, standards, and best practices across HCSC's business and technology teams. This includes implementing an enterprise data dictionary and promoting the use of data products to minimize redundancy and accelerate delivery, as well as adopting enterprise processes and tools like self-service data marketplaces and AI / ML operations
- Design and implement comprehensive change management programs to educate and enforce data governance practices throughout the HCSC data community
- Guide teams in scoping and sizing large-scale strategic data projects, including providing ROM estimates during multi-year planning and managing intake and demand processes.
- Facilitate partnerships between leaders, Data Solutions Leaders, and Data Product Managers to create strategic, division-wide data delivery roadmaps that identify and manage dependencies across data products.
- Develop a strategic plan and roadmap for the Data & Analytics (D&A) ecosystem, analyzing business needs and demand to inform future directions
- Lead data governance forums (e.g., SteerCos, Data Working Groups) and champion data governance with the broader HCSC data community, influencing stakeholders to adopt best practices and enforce policies and standards
- Partner with Information Governance & the Privacy Office to ensure compliance with relevant regulations (i.e. HIPPA, CCPA, etc.)
