- End Date: Ongoing, long-term coverage
- Work Setting: Inpatient care
- Shift Length: 12-hour or 24-hour shifts available
- 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
- 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM (24-hour shifts)
- Volume:
- St. Vincent Medical Center: 3,000 deliveries per year
- Providence Portland Medical Center: 4,500 deliveries per year
- Patient Load:
- PPMC: 10 patients per shift
- PSV: 22 patients per shift
- NICU Level: 3
- Trauma Level: 0
- Certifications Required: NRP, state licensure in Oregon, board eligibility in neonatology
- Support Staff:
- 13 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs)
- 5 Registered Nurses (RN)
- Supervision: No supervision of advanced practice providers is required
- Providing in-hospital care for neonatal patients
- Attending deliveries and performing necessary neonatal procedures
- Managing patient care in collaboration with neonatal physicians, who conduct daily patient check-ins
- Delivering unit-based support within the NICU
- Utilizing office space at both sites for administrative tasks and patient charting
- Licensed in Oregon
- NRP certification required (Advanced certifications like ACLS, PALS, ATLS, BLS are not required)
- Neonatology experience, especially in a high-volume setting, is preferred
- Board eligibility or certification in neonatology is required
- Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
- EMR System: Epic
- Call Requirements: No call required for this position
