What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Attendant position at HDG Legacy, LLC?
SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for performing tasks such as washing, drying, and folding linens according to company quality standards in a manner which furthers HDG Hotels Legacy's Vision, Mission, and Values. An attendant is often responsible for sorting items by color, weight and fabric types and making sure items are washed in the proper machine cycle by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collect dirty linen from rooms, floors, or from laundry chute termination room.
- Sort all linens and treat stains. Wash only full loads, not partial loads.
- Load all laundry into washer and add specified cleaning agents. Follow guidelines for use of laundry chemicals. Clean lint traps every 2 hours.
- Review Ecolab chemical usage program for washing, use only as directed for each type of linen.
- Take wet, clean items and dry as directed.
- Sort and fold clean dried items. Deliver linen and restock closets as needed.
- Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to general manager.
- Maintain all laundry equipment and inform facilities manager as to any maintenance needs.
- Perform additional laundry services when necessary.
- Ability to work well as a team.
- Willingness to help line with cleaning public restrooms, fitness center, guest laundry, and other designated public spaces as directed.
ATTENDANCE:
Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
