Position Summary
Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and gain hands-on experience in engineering, material testing, and construction? We're seeking a hardworking and motivated individual to join our Material Testing Services team as a Material Testing Technician .
Based in Anchorage or Palmer, you'll work under the direction of the Material Testing Manager to perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials, ensuring compliance with standard testing procedures. Testing will be conducted at construction sites and in a controlled laboratory environment. You'll be trained in HDL's state-of-the-art Palmer laboratory and work on projects throughout Alaska, with most activity concentrated in Anchorage, the Mat-Su Borough, and the Kenai Peninsula. Expect long hours, overtime, and some weekends during the busy construction season-this role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Required Job Qualification :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Basic math skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted

Work Environment
This role combines fieldwork, laboratory work, and travel. Fieldwork often involves working near busy roadways, intersections, and construction zones.
