Essential Duties:
- Coordinates plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
- Directs and manages plant operations and staffing for production and shipping/receiving as required
- Develops and controls production staffing plans to meet facility goals
- Promotes and supports Quality Management System process and documentation
- Establishes and monitors overall plant performance measurements for production
- Implements and measures labor efficiency improvements
- Controls and minimizes labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses
- Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment: replaces, or makes adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary
- Promotes and ensures compliance with Safety programs throughout the facility. Partners with HDT safety professionals to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state safety/health regulations (OSHA, environmental, etc.)
- Provides direction, development and leadership to production supervisors
Education/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, equivalent experience and education
- Min. 7 years plant/general management in a manufacturing environment
- Background in manufacturing methods, process improvement programs/procedures is required
- Experience in Lean manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment
