Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
ICAP is a private, non-profit agency mobilizing private and public sector resources to help low and moderate income people improve their living conditions.
The Senior Services division provides services for seniors age 55 and over who want to serve their local communities in various capacities. These programs include; Foster Grandparents Program, Retired Senior Volunteers Program and the Senior Center.
The RSVP Coordinator is responsible for developing and overseeing all phases of the RSVP program including; assessing volunteer needs in the ICAP service area and recruiting, training and coordinating volunteers to meet those needs.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Prefer BA/BS degree in Administration, Business, Education or Social Science with 2 years related experience.
- Background in program development and administration preferred. Grant writing experience helpful.
- Experience working with and organizing volunteers required.
- Non-degreed applicants with 4 years relevant experience will be considered. High School degree required with experience in a social service setting required.

- Consent to a criminal background check.
- Must have a valid Indiana driver’s license, automobile insurance and pass a Bureau of Motor Vehicles check.
- Consent to and pass an initial and random drug screens.
MAJOR DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all services as directed by the Senior Services program Director. All services are to be completed emphasizing excellent customer service.
- Development and submission of the annual grant application to the Corporation for National and Community Service.
- Assess volunteer needs of the community and develop all phases of the project operation.
- Coordinate with advisory council on program planning, changes evaluation, and problems affecting the program.
- Arrange orientation and training for advisory council as needed.
- Recruitment, selection, training and placement of RSVP volunteers.
- Recruitment, selection, and training of RSVP work stations.
- Perform program administrative functions to comply with ICAP and funding agency requirements.
- Conduct semi-annual work station monitoring visits.
- Provide liaison function to ICAP’s Director of Senior Services.
- Knowledge of community resources with ability to develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with community service agencies, organizations, and private sector businesses.
- Plan and conduct a public relations program in cooperation with the ICAP’s Director of Senior Services
- Develop and maintain financial, program, and volunteer records.
- Adheres to approved budget/approved work plan and ICAP fiscal and administrative procedures.
- Prepare and issue reports to administrative and program entities specified by ICAP.
- Evaluate operational procedures and project activities, including providing input to advisory board during annual evaluation process.
- Attend Corporation for National & Community Service training programs and other appropriate meetings and conferences on aging and volunteerism.
- Organize and direct volunteer recognition program and banquet.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Must be detail oriented, complete reports, estimates, and all paperwork efficiently, accurately and timely.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze situations with the ability to exercise independent, decisive judgments.
- Create and implement a team environment while providing direction and guidance for volunteers
- General administrative skills and abilities are needed including basic computer skills and knowledge of computer software such as MS Word, Excel.
- Problem solving skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Adaptable to a variety of job requirements and situations required.
- Ability to represent ICAP and the RSVP program to the public in a positive manner through marketing and public relations skills and abilities.
- Fund raising skills to include; creativity, relationship building, presentation skills, and commitment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sit for long periods at a desk and computer in a climate controlled office.
- Able to walk, bend, crouch, climb stairs, lift up to 35 lbs
