What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Summer Maintenance Worker position at Head Start Child and Family Development Program?
Part-time Maintenance worker needed for the Hastings office. This is a part-time temporary summer position. 20/30 hours per week. Position would begin May 1st and go through July 31st. Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Adams County office building and vehicles. Must have a GED or High School Diploma. Must be able to pass MVR and must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation.

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the care and maintenance of the physical facilities, organization’s vehicles utilized by the Head Start and other programs of the organization.
- Maintain outdoor areas including cleaning gutters, maintenance of sprinklers, snow removal and lawn maintenance for facilities.
- Complete minor repairs of the facilities as needed.
- Change light bulbs, maintain lighting fixtures and light switch covers.
- Assist in assembly and setup of furniture, fixtures, play structures and similar items as needed.
- Make sure that all floors are kept in a clean and safe condition, with major cleanings and repairs as needed throughout the year based upon type of floor and usage.
- Maintain parking lots and playgrounds, including removal of accumulated trash and check of the condition of play equipment and play areas.
