Small Nurse Practitioner group practice seeks a kind soul with a passion for communication to actively participate in the health care for individuals suffering from headache and migraine as a medical assistant. Great communication starts with a cheerful personality and professional demeanor at our practice and includes the ability to listen attentively and help patients achieve their healthcare goals by having thoroughly understood and evaluated the situation at hand. Great communication also requires being organized and ready and willing to communicate with patients, providers, and staff with regular updates, phone calls and in person discussions.
Headache Care Center is a single specialty office located in South Windsor, with 4 practitioners. We are looking for a medical assistant that will be a team player primarily focused on patient rooming, medication list management, prior authorizations, vital signs, scribing, and patient phone calls, but also helping as needed with administrative work (scheduling, front desk, etc.) with a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail. The position will also include medication and procedure prior authorization requests, covermymeds processes, and rooming patients, among other similar duties. Experience with, or ability to quickly adapt to, electronic medical records computer program necessary.
This position is for 4 days per week (Mon-Thu), with occasional 5th day (generally a Fri). Our hours are Mondays 6:30-3:00, Tuesdays 9:00-5:00, Wednesdays 9:00-5:00, Thursdays 12:00-8:00, and occasional Friday mornings through early afternoon. The office may also occasionally open on Saturdays.

Qualifications:
- CT Licensed Medical Assistant
- Proficient in medical administrative support and EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and physiology
- Experience in patient care, including vital signs and intake procedures
- Familiarity with private practice and neurology practices is a plus
- Ability to work in various settings, including outpatient and inpatient care
