We are seeking a Project Civil Engineer to join our Chicago Metropolitan team in a full-time role. This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to be at the forefront of municipal infrastructure projects, work alongside industry experts, and take your career to the next level.
In this role, you will lead the design and development of municipal infrastructure systems from concept to completion. You’ll be responsible for:
- Designing and optimizing
- Water distribution systems
- Wastewater collection systems
- Stormwater collection systems
- Regional stormwater detention/retention facilities
- Other municipal infrastructure systems
- Preparing plans and specifications
- Managing the permitting process
- Coordinating with stakeholders (utilities, contractors, property owners, etc.)
- Creating technical reports and administrative deliverables
- Collaborating with senior technical staff on calculations, quantity take-offs, and cost estimations
- Serving as the lead project engineer with a clear pathway to Senior Engineer and Project Manager roles
We’re looking for a talented civil engineer with the following skills and qualifications:
- Experience designing water, wastewater, and stormwater systems
- Knowledge of pressurized water distribution and gravity sewer systems
- Familiarity with roadway geometric design (a plus!)
- Understanding of Cook County DOTH and MWRD permitting
- Proficiency in IDOT Standard Specs and contract quantities
- Software experience in Excel, AutoCAD (Autodesk/Bentley), WaterCAD, SewerCAD, XPSWMM, and ArcGIS (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- 3 years of relevant experience (5-10 years preferred)
- Illinois F.E. licensure required; P.E. licensure (or ability to obtain within 12 months) preferred
- Advanced degrees and project administration experience are a plus
- Must be located in the Chicago Metropolitan area (Hybrid/Remote options available!)
- Valid IL driver’s license required
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
