Annual Salary: $165,000 - $175,000
OVERVIEW:
The VP of Programs will ensure operational excellence, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and lead a high-performing team to achieve measurable outcomes. They will work closely with the executive team to collaboratively articulate, implement, and operationalize the strategic vision associated with all Heading Home’s programs, including Family Shelter, Rapid Track Shelter, Supportive Housing (PSH), Diversion, Stabilization, Career and Financial Services (CFS), Community Support Program for Homeless Individuals (CSP-HI), Bureau of Substance Addition Services (BSAS), and Clinical Support Services. The VP of Programs will directly oversee the Senior Director of Family Shelter, the Senior Director of Rapid Track Shelter, the Senior Director of Supportive Housing and the Program Manager for Diversion. This role will focus on providing both quality and cost-effective support to all our Program teams. The VP of Programs is expected to be a strategic partner across the agency, striving to maintain collaboration, customer service, fiscal responsibility and program support with various departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES / Essential Job Functions:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for all of Heading Home’s programs that support the organization’s mission and long-term goals.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to align programs with organizational priorities and ensure resource efficiency.
- Stay informed on changes to the shelter, supportive housing and clinical systems, trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities to enhance the organization’s offerings.
- Communicate proactively and keep senior leadership informed through clear, timely, and strategic updates aligned with organizational priorities.
Program Development and Execution:
- Oversee the creation and delivery of programs, ensuring they are innovative, impactful, and meet state grant and quality standards.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance, using data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement.
- Work closely with programs and compliance staff to ensure that Heading Home programs comply with regulatory and funding expectations and requirements.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage and mentor a diverse team of program directors, managers, and other staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and professional development plans for all program staff.
Operational and Financial Oversight:
- Work with Finance and Compliance to develop and manage program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational resources.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and organizational policies.
- Maintain effective systems for program documentation, reporting, and communication.

Work Environment
Normal for an office environment. Position requires a minimum of four days onsite. Office is climate controlled with heat and air conditioning. Travel to programs required (approximately 20%).
