Headline is a personalized news platform that helps users stay informed about local and global events in a way that matters to them. We’re looking for a creative and driven Marketing & Social Media Intern to help grow our presence and engage with our audience.
- Manage and create content for Headline’s social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Develop strategies to grow engagement and increase followers.
- Assist with marketing campaigns, newsletters, and promotional content.
- Monitor trends in media, tech, and marketing to inform content strategy.
- Engage with users and respond to inquiries/comments on social platforms.
- Analyze social media performance and suggest improvements.
- Appear on-camera for social media content (e.g., short-form videos, news updates, interviews).
- Currently enrolled at University of Washington (UW) (preferred).
- Journalism major or actively involved in student journalism at UW (preferred).
- Passionate about media, news, and digital marketing.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Experience with social media platforms and basic content creation (Canva, Adobe, etc.).
- Comfortable in front of the camera for video content.
- Ability to work independently and bring creative ideas to the table.
- Bonus: Experience with analytics tools, social media scheduling, or paid ads.
