Data Modeler

As a trusted technical advisor, you will provide thought leadership and design a Healthcare Common Data Model on Azure Cloud Platform that supports interoperability, data ingestion/integration, data privacy, data quality and data governance for our clients in the healthcare and life sciences industry. You will work closely with Sr Azure Solution/Data Architect for the development of an enterprise data strategy and possess a strong technical acumen and working knowledge of methodologies, processes and best practices on cloud data architectures, data science platforms, event-driven architectures, and API-enabled data services.

Responsibilities:

1. Review current environment for existing data challenges, on-prem data infrastructure and flow, and application architecture.
2. Lead the development of an enterprise healthcare common data model on Azure data platform.
3. Deep understanding of data warehousing, data lake concepts, and big data processing technologies
4. Design logical and physical data models based on the cloud data warehouse or targets on Azure Cloud using ErWin or any other data modeling tool available with our clients.
5. Develop Data Dictionary with clear entity, relationship and descriptions based on client requirements.
6. Work closely with the ETL architect/Data Engineer to develop source-to-target mapping documents
7. Collaborate with clients to understand their data needs, identifying potential use cases for Databricks, and presenting compelling solutions.

Requirements

1. Deep technical passion for all things data
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant work experience.
3. Minimum 10-12 years of relevant hands-on experience in Enterprise Data Management, cloud technologies and data modeling techniques
4. Solid knowledge and implementation experience with data modeling techniques
5. Working knowledge of ETL, data warehousing tools and technologies using dbt cloud, ADF, and Databricks
6. Knowledge of Databricks platform features including Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables (DLT) and Data Bricks SQL
7. Perform data analysis to support strategic initiatives and clearly communicate and present insights to leadership.
8. Coordinate with cross-functional team for requirements, improvements and enhancements that support various data and analytics needs
9. Unafraid to try new technologies, arbitrate complex technical discussions, and make challenging decisions.
10. Great written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present ideas to both technical and business audiences.
11. A self-starter who can thrive in ambiguity and builds trusted relationships. Has a “can do” attitude and entrepreneurial resourcefulness in getting things done in a fast-paced environment.
