Position Summary

Experienced energetic and driven Supply Chain Manager with a minimum of 5 years’ management experience who can build and lead all international procurement and logistics functions in a fast growth, dynamic environment. This is a unique opportunity for a sharp and personable individual to join our dynamic organization of Companies focused on bringing water reuse to municipalities and industry worldwide. Extremely hands-on position in mid-sized business atmosphere requiring knowledge and experience in implementing procedures in advance of growth, mentoring team members, and building best in class performance. This position will be a key member of the senior management team of the company. Competitive salary.

Essential Functions

  • Works with Engineering, Fabrication, Project Management, Product Management, Sales and Finance to develop continuous sourcing strategies and improvements to the Company’s product lines while improving profitability and lowering costs to the customer.
  • Continues to develop members of the Procurement and SCM team through KPI measurement, sound hiring practices, mentoring, offering ever increasing responsibilities, career advice and addition of new team members as needed.
  • Identifies, qualifies, and interfaces with outsourced international manufacturing facilities and domestic and international material and component vendors with input from Engineering.
  • Works to continually improve the department’s processes and practices in line with best industry practices, including detailed understanding of descriptions of the product and service offerings, capabilities and strengths/weaknesses of current suppliers and continual monitoring and negotiating of better pricing.
  • Conducts research on key supply markets using a full spectrum of information sources (e.g. market indices, on-line databases, print sources, internet, trade associations and supplier information), continually looking for new sources which will provide information on industry structure, supplier landscape and competitor actions for a range of key supply markets with monthly reports to Senior Management Team.
  • Annually develops cost and quality improvement strategies for all components and material purchases and monitors progress across the department.
  • Conducts a minimum of annual reviews with key suppliers regarding quality and on time performance and costs versus pre-agreed standards.
  • Supports Project Management in the compilation of monthly procurement performance status reports.
  • Works with Sales to update and maintain quotation calculations and procedures to ensure accurate cost estimates.
  • Provides sourcing assistance to new product development teams on a global basis.
  • Negotiates or supervises the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Reviews and revises terms and conditions of purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations and manage same from initial negotiations through supplier development and audit activities.
  • Ensures that commodities and components are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price and meets the quality standards of the Company.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepare market analysis reports for senior management team.
  • Arranges for routine disposal of surplus materials and maintains control over excess and obsolete materials.
  • Upholds internal and external policies, regulations and laws – Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as any internal policies (e.g., code of ethics) or procedures to ensure that the behavior exhibited by the organization is honest, ethical and professional.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in appropriate discipline required. MBA a plus.
  • CSCP Certification a plus
  • 10 or more years experience in supply chain management with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management role for international supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong moral and ethical standards.
  • Experience and proven track record of implementation of processes leading to excellence and improving cost metrics through use of best practice techniques such as cycle counting, MRP planning, JIT, Kaizan, etc.
  • Proven success in implementing new policies and processes, working with internal management and external teams to analyze and suggest improvements to systems.
  • Understands both metric and imperial measurement systems, documentation and design standards and how to read manufacturing drawings and take off relevant information.
  • Ability to interact with vendors and manufacturing production managers to oversee and improve JIT manufacturing processes.
  • ISO 9000 or similar Quality System background required. Demonstrated success in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience making recommendations/decisions using fact based analysis. Strong ability to analyze and use data appropriately including preparation of forecasts.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize numerous requests. High level of multi-tasking and organization required.
  • Strong proficiency with various software applications (e.g. Word, Excel and QuickBooks Enterprise or Sage) and excellent communications skills both oral and written.
  • Occasional travel required including international.
  • Must be a US citizen or hold an unrestricted Permanent Residency card.
