Recovery Engagement Specialist - Women’s Campus
Part-Time–Non-Exempt-
There are two positions available. Both positions are in our Social Setting Detox and Emergency Shelter at our Women's Campus
Extensive use of computers and documentation required in this position.
Required: Third shifts
Required: Training shifts will be required over first and second shifts.
Required: Weekends
Required: Monthly staff meeting every second Thursday 1:30-3:30pm.
Required: Must complete all assessments to be considered for the position.
Preferred: Peer support specialist and or work experience in the addiction and recovery field.
Key Responsibilities
· Provides support and encouragement to engage participants in the recovery process;
· Assess the health and well being of participants at all times;
· Assess and monitor vital signs and the level of withdrawal/intoxication following Healing Transitions Detox guidelines
· Ensures that participants understand and complete all necessary intake documentation
· Continually assess and observe participants regarding medical/psychiatric emergencies and makes appropriate referrals;
· Maintains current participant records and ensures appropriate storage and confidential handling;
· Assures that a safe environment is maintained;
· Works closely with other departments regarding issues related to program participants;
· Coordinate after hours referrals from law enforcement, other community providers, or first-time guests
· Ensures pertinent resources and information are available to guests
Education, Experience and Attributes
- Valid NC Driver License is required; this position is responsible for providing transportation in Healing Transitions vehicles, including large vans;
- Must be familiar with Healing Transitions program and be able to engage participants in the recovery process;
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job
- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail;
- Must possess flexibility and dependability;
- Ability to work as part of a team; must be adaptable and enjoy a fast paced work environment;
- Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- If a former participant in Healing Transitions program, a minimum of one year in recovery preferred and at least 6 months in recovery off campus required.
- Certified Peer Support Specialist preferred.
- Must be able to work all shifts and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits
