CLINICAL REVIEW PHARMACIST

Healix Infusion Therapy is seeking a full-time Clinical Review Corporate Pharmacist to join our Clinical Research Team. 

As a Clinical Review Corporate Pharmacist with Healix, you will have the opportunity to conduct and coordinate clinical outcomes research and clinical trials. Our unique position in the outpatient infusion management setting, in collaboration with our outstanding physician partners, gives us unprecedented access to the highest quality real-world clinical data and the ideal setting to conduct clinical trials. This individual will report directly to the Vice President of Clinical Pharmacy and Research and be a key collaborator on internal teams, critical health outcomes research and value demonstration in addition to participation in Phase II to IV research. This is an excellent opportunity for pharmacists or scientists who are passionate about clinical research.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Works as a key member of the CRT to support the site staff, physician clients, Client Services Executive Team (CSEs) and BO to facilitate clinical support of drug therapies and review of medication orders in the Infusion Management System (IMS).
• Conducts review of medication orders and documentation sent continuously throughout the day to Payor Guideline Review (PGR) in IMS to facilitate the pre-approval process.
• Reviews documentation and orders for therapies and evaluates in accordance with payor medical policies.
• Communicates to sites and staff regarding documentation needed and/or order clarifications.
• Be current and proficient in understanding and use of all applicable drug therapies utilized within the company.
• Completes expedited “stat” PGR reviews when required in order to obtain rapid approvals for infusion and injectable medications.
• Communicates consistently and frequently with the stakeholders within the organization regarding patient referrals and drug therapy inquiries, including CSEs, BO Management and Supervisory Team, Corporate Nursing and Pharmacy Operations as required.
• Responds to site, corporate and CSE emails as assigned.
• Manages the PGR queue daily to complete clinical reviews and assists in clearing all cases each day.
• Performs completion of documentation and IMS entry using site EMR when requested by CSE team and approved by department to facilitate prior authorizations and approvals.
• Creates Letter of Medical Necessity for referring physicians as needed to obtain authorizations or to overturn denials. 
• Assists in obtaining and providing drug information to site staff as needed.
• Assists in review of new drug therapies as needed.
• Assists in assigned activities from the leadership team as needed.
• Maintains consistent and frequent communication with the Clinical Review Team, including any coverage needs.
• Other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Advanced Degree (Pharm.D., Ph.D.)
• Specialty Residency or Specialized Training preferred in specialty clinical area
• 3-4 years’ experience in a strong clinical role in pharmacy or industry
• Clinical experience in Inflammation, Immunology, and General Medicine preferred
• Prior experience in data collection and analysis
• Computer proficient in Excel, databases, research platforms and eCRF systems
• Strong analytical and presentation skills
