Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant
Job Summary:
Health 210 is in the Stone Oak area and is seeking a highly organized and patient-focused individual to join our team as a medical office receptionist. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining an efficient and welcoming front desk environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a variety of administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED or equivalent required. Minimum of two years' experience in the health care industry working in a medical office. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, both oral and written. Experience with Athena Health EMR preferred but not required. Bilingual a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is obtained.
- Assist patients with check-in and registration process.
- Schedule appointments and manage appointment calendars.
- Answer phone calls promptly and address inquiries and or direct calls to the appropriate staff members.
- Maintain patient records and update demographic information as needed.
- Verify insurance information and process necessary paperwork.
- Collect co-payments, deductibles, coinsurances, and balances if any.
- Coordinate patient referrals when necessary.
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks as assigned.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying providers of patients’ arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
- Manage and organize patient files and medical records.
- Liaise between patients and medical staff to ensure smooth flow of information.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other team members.
- Relay messages accurately and promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Monitor and order office supplies as needed.
- Assist in the coordination of office lunches or meetings.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Safeguard sensitive information and maintain a secure office environment.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
