POSITION SUMMARY:
An Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) provides mental health services under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker. ACSW conducts assessments to understand clients' psychological and social needs and develops treatment plans. ACSW offers therapeutic services, such as individual, group, and family therapy, to help clients address mental health issues. ACSW also connects clients with community resources and support services, advocating on their behalf to ensure they receive appropriate care. ACSW maintains accurate and confidential client records, complying with ethical and regulatory standards. Additionally, ACSW participates in ongoing training and supervision to enhance their clinical skills and professional development.

- Evaluating clients' psychological, emotional, and social needs.
- Creating individualized care plans based on assessment findings.
- Offering individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
- Responding to clients in crisis situations and providing appropriate support.
- Advocating for clients to access necessary resources and services.
- Connecting clients with community resources and support services.
- Coordinating care and services for clients, ensuring continuity and comprehensiveness of care.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential client records and documentation.
- Ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines, legal regulations, and organizational policies.
- Engaging in regular supervision with a licensed clinical social worker for guidance and professional development.
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development activities.
- Working with other healthcare professionals, social workers, and community organizations to provide holistic care.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of clinical programs and services.
- Engaging in outreach activities to educate the community and raise awareness about mental health issues and available services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
- EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in social work (MSW): Completion of an accredited MSW program.
- Licensure: Certification as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, typically requiring passing relevant exams and fulfilling state-specific requirements
- One year of experience as a social worker

- Proficiency in individual, group, and family therapy techniques.
- Ability to conduct thorough psychosocial assessments.
- Skills to handle and de-escalate crisis situations effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and other professionals.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Knowledge of various mental health conditions and their treatment.

- Knowledge of evidence-based clinical interventions and treatment modalities.
- Understanding of proper documentation practices and reporting requirements.
- Awareness of state and federal regulations governing social work practice.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is characteristic of a clinic environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually noisy.
The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using substances and/or not attentive to personal health and safety for themselves or their homes. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client’s use of alcohol and drugs, and the lack of personal care. The employee may also be exposed to bodily fluids (blood, urine) and hazardous chemicals.
