The Health and Welfare Council of Long Island (HWCLI) is a private, not for profit, health and human services planning, research/public education and advocacy organization that serves as the umbrella for public and non-profit agencies serving Long Island's poor and vulnerable individuals and families.
The Health Equity Alliance of Long Island (HEALI) is Long Island’s Social Care Network (SCN) of community-based organizations (CBOs) and healthcare providers building a person centric model that integrates healthcare, social care, and behavioral health care. HWCLI is the lead entity for the HEALI Social Care Network. The SCN brings together social service and health care providers from across Nassau and Suffolk counties through identification, care coordination, integration, and provision of tailored funding to provide enhanced healthcare equity.
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Communications Coordinator, Social Care Network
HWCLI seeks an energetic, passionate, and socially conscious individual to support the HWCLI and HEALI missions by providing communications support. This role is responsible for executing a comprehensive social care network (providers and services) communication plan and ensuring seamless integration across all HEALI communications. This position reports to the Director of Operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the Executive Vice President and Director of Operations to execute a comprehensive social care network (providers and services) communication plan, ensuring seamless integration across all HEALI communications.
- Develop and share social media communications across applicable platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) to engage both CBOs, MCOs, healthcare providers and eligible Medicaid recipients.
- Ensure alignment in the posting and distribution of content in email communications, blog posts, and website pages.
- Monitor success of media campaigns and activity to identify and maximize effective communication strategies
- Regularly update and refresh HWCLI SCN websites with relevant content that meets state requirements and leadership-identified goals
- Act as webmaster for HEALI SCN website which includes managing content updates (copy, photography, videos, lightboxes, and graphics) and maintenance of all pages.
- Provide support in preparing materials for communications to the HWCLI Board, SCN governing body, SCN provider agencies, other stakeholders, and other committees to communicate key messages related to SCN communication and marketing activities.
- In collaboration with team members, proactively write/proof/edit network- and public-facing correspondence
- Utilize the established HEALI SCN brand platform
- Design and edit graphics for print or web as needed
- Contribute to development of training materials that engage diverse audiences
- Create templates for both public-facing and internal materials, ensuring a consistent, cohesive and efficient communication strategy, that includes appropriate linkages to HWCLI as the lead entity
- Manage, maintain, and clean communication lists by appropriate populations
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or closely related field or significant equivalent work experience required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience required.
- Experience in website development and CRM preferred.
- Experience working with email marketing tools (i.e. Constant Contact) strongly preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fluency in Canva or similar tool
- Fluency in Social Media Platforms and working understanding of analytics
- Ability to prepare and present proposals, reports, updates, summaries, etc.
- Ability to develop communication that supports cross-cultural engagement and messaging that supports diversity, equity, and belonging
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow established branding, communication, and approval guidelines, while communicating ideas for improvement
- Ability to build constructive working relationships with internal and external partners
- Strong interpersonal skills, independently resourceful and thrives in a remote environment
- Takes responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight
- Proficient with MS Office and various business software
- Salary range: $45,000- $50,000/year.
