What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Therapist position at Health Care for the Homeless?
We’re seeking a compassionate and skilled licensed mental health professional to provide trauma-informed, client-centered therapy to adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing homelessness and co-occurring disorders. This is a .6 FTE (24 hours/week) position with meaningful, mission-driven work and the opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver behavioral health assessments, therapy, and crisis intervention.
- Collaborate with medical and case management staff to provide integrated, whole-person care.
- Support clients with SMART goal treatment planning and discharge coordination.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Participate in on-call phone coverage rotation with the behavioral health team.
- Facilitate psycho-educational groups as needed.
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling.
- Active LMSW, LCSW, or LCPC license (LCSW-C highly preferred).
- At least two years of experience working with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
- A commitment to harm reduction, and experience with underserved populations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis management skills.

Salary : $63,492 - $74,074
