Primary Function :
This position oversees and manages the specific tasks of the Distribution team to exceed customer expectations. The position will require the ability to learn and understand all facets of the operation from picking and packing to small parcel and LTL shipment completion. A focus on quality, teamwork, planning, scheduling and the ability to react quickly to changes are essential for this position.
Responsibilities :
- Provide leadership and manages the day-to-day activities of the Distribution team.
- Assist in the interviewing, training, evaluating and scheduling of the Distribution team.
- Provide consistent communication to the team to continually develop growth by coaching and mentoring.
- Understand and effectively utilize HCL's ERP / Warehouse Management System to create and oversee workflow.
- Assist and keep in constant communication with our Sales team with any customer related shipment issues, questions or concerns.
- Effectively communicate with the Operations Teams' internal departments to ensure customer and shipment-related expectations are met.
- Monitor picking and packing statistics for the team to ensure individual goals are met.
- Help to identify and cost savings and any process changes to continually improve efficiency and service to the customer.
- Communicate with UPS / FedEx and various LTL carriers on daily pickups for outbound shipments and any issues that may arise with customer shipments.
