The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description - Drive the process of creating and distributing internal and public facing publications that include the Assistor Newsletter and the NY State of Health Update Newsletter/Email.- Craft compelling articles and other written material for use in publications, and related marketing materials. Identify opportunities to capture consumer testimonials for use in NY State of Health publications and materials.- Serve as the internal point person for internal client groups/departments who provide information for publications (for instance, the Assistors network/department). Work internally with Communications & Marketing staff to streamline translation processes and support.- Serve as the key point person for developing compelling and engaging social media content across NY State of Health social media platforms. Own the social media calendar for NY State of Health and work with internal staff to coordinate paid and organic content.- Collaborate with other social media program teams within NYS Department of Health, such as the Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP), and Public Affairs Group (PAG) to create new content and identify content opportunities that can be used across social media platforms.- Manage external social media agency and liaise with other external marketing agencies regarding social media. - Serve as the point person on a variety of projects within the NY State of Health Communications and Marketing Team.- New projects range from multi-platform communications/marketing campaigns, major outreach event planning and implementation, as well as providing NY STATE OF HEALTH support and guidance for other DOH and/or OHIP projects.- Develop key relationships across the agency to ensure clear communication, project management, and timely delivery of deliverables.- Manage a variety of events and outreach opportunities statewide (upstate/downstate). Work in partnership with other NY State of Health staff to coordinate efforts.- Take an active role in identifying new event and experiential marketing opportunities that drive enrollment and awareness of NY State of Health.- Ensure accurate promotion of all events in partnership with the NY State of Health social media team, internal events coordinators, and other relevant departments/personnel.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience. * *Substitutions: four years of relevant experience or associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree; J.D. or master’s degree may substitute for one year of relevant experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented, possess strong interpersonal skills for working in a cross-functional team environment and have effective time management skills to maintain multiple projects with complex details and timelines. Must be able to adapt to changing deadlines and priorities and input from a broad spectrum of stakeholders.The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, writing, and editing skills and should be familiar and/or knowledgeable of public health insurance programs. Additionally, the candidate must also have a range of project management experience, as well as experience managing external agencies/vendors, planning and creating social media content, and event coordination/logistics preferred.Experience in a similar marketing and communications role with relevant experience from the public, private, and/or non-profit sector. Experience in a Microsoft Office 365 environment using Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams; experience with popular meeting platform software such as Zoom, WebEx, and other popular programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva.Multi-lingual with a strong sense of the diverse cultures and communities in upstate and downstate NY.
