The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The incumbent will perform mailroom services of a routing nature, including sorting and distributing mail, keeping records of registered or certified mail, picking up and delivering mail; primarily within the DOH space in the Empire State Plaza; process outgoing mail; operate postal machines and other equipment as necessary; receive, store and distribute office supplies, equipment, furniture, publications and other printed materials as assigned. May occasionally operate a motor vehicle to pick up and deliver mail to satellite offices.

Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this title.Preferred Qualifications: Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; to bend, lift and walk for long periods of time, to prepare and maintain standard numeric records and reports; basic knowledge of applicable rules, regulations and rates of the U.S. Postal Services; working knowledge of the methods and procedures for storing and distributing supplies.
