Geisinger ConvenientCare is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Berwick, PA. This site qualifies for a $20k recruitment incentive.
Job Duties
Geisinger ConvenientCare (Urgent Care) clinicians diagnose and treat common medical problems including sore throats, earaches, sinus infections, flu, urinary tract infections along with routine health exams, immunizations, screenings and wellness services.

Due to the autonomous nature of the position, Advanced Practitioners must be able to treat patients from age one and older, and have at minimum six months of Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, or Critical Care Advanced Practice experience.
The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.

Job Duties

- Attractive schedule:
- Office Hours - Monday - Friday 8:45 am – 8:15 pm
- Saturday & Sunday 7:45 am – 6:15 pm
- 14 rotating shifts/month – work every other weekend
- No overnight shifts – no mandated additional shifts
- Call approximately six nights per year – no direct patient call – for critical lab, CT, etc.
- Support staff – LPNs, Patient Access Reps and Rad Techs (when applicable)
- Work autonomously with limited administrative burden
- Access to Geisinger’s network of resources and specialists
- Work in comfort – scrub attire
- Epic EMR – universal throughout Geisinger
- Six observed holidays – Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day
- Competitive Salary – newly increased salary for 2025
- Recruitment incentives up to $20k (at specific clinics) – 30-month work obligation with department (not applicable for internal, lateral transfer)
- Geography stipend up to $10,400k (at specific clinics)
- Advanced Practice Council – serves to support Geisinger Advanced Practitioners and Advanced Practitioner students
- Professional development – participate in our internal programs or utilize tuition reimbursement
- Teaching/Precepting opportunities – available via advanced practice preceptorship
- Continuing Medical Education – 10 days and $3,000 annually
