The Heart Institute at Joe DiMaggio Children?s Hospital (JDCH) is seeking a full-time pediatric transplant cardiologist to join an established team of specialists. The Heart Transplant Program started in 2010 and has become the second busiest program in the state of physician must be board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology and have completed advanced fellowship training in heart failure and transplantation. The ideal candidate would have expertise in managing advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant patients, in addition to use of mechanical circulatory support (MCS). The physician will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of cardiologists and advanced practice providers specializing in transplant, heart failure, and MCS, offering comprehensive care to pediatric and young adult patients. Patient care responsibilities include hospital service, outpatient clinics, and periodic satellite clinic coverage. Candidates should have an interest and passion for teaching, as they will be involved in training of the next generation of physicians with Memorial?s ACGME-accredited Residency and Fellowship Programs. Research interests are encouraged and rapidly growing Cardiology Division consists of 24 Cardiologists, and 3 surgeons. Over 600 catheterizations and 10,000 echoes are performed annually at JDCH. JDCH boasts excellent support for clinical research and there is ample opportunity for involvement. Our center participates in numerous multicenter studies, trials, and registries. Complementing the Heart Institute, Memorial Healthcare System has comprehensive programs, including the Transplant Institute, located onsite, to provide oversight and additional resources for our is a full-time employed position with the Memorial Physician Group.
