As The Clinical Pharmacist II Your Duties Will Include
- Providing pharmaceutical care according to standards established by Scripps Health Pharmacy, to assigned group of patients.
- Reviewing and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost. Documenting the care provided to patients.
- Supervising the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
- Routinely communicating with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy.
- Contributing to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost–effectiveness of drug therapy.
- Demonstrating ability to provide age–specific patient care as established for area and job title.
- Working variable shifts, including evenings and weekends as staffing needs require.
- Demonstrating ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in Pharmacist Authorities policy.
- Primarily clinical based practice demonstrates ability to perform competencies and prescriptive authorities as approved by the medical staff.
- Participating in direct patient care with patient care teams.
- Performing all clinical pharmacy activities and oversees clinical activities of clinical pharmacists in training.
- Precepting students and/or residents.

- BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree
- California Pharmacist License
- AHA BLS for the health care provider
- ACLS certifications required prior to being trained to respond to codes. Can be obtained after start.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or other nationally recognized certification required within 2 years' of hire.
- Experience in a multi–site health system pharmacy enterprise
- Teaching certificate and/or experience precepting students and/or residents
- PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant practice area preferred.
- Medicine/Oncology Experience
