Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology with current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required. Valid State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer license required.
Other Credentials / Certifications
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
GENERAL SUMMARY:

Principal Job Functions

- Performs all types of diagnostic x-ray procedures to include radiography, fluoroscopy, portable diagnostic and portable fluoroscopy; practices radiation safety for patients, staff and self.
- Uses sterile technique as required.
- Optimally demonstrates patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors.
- Competently operates all diagnostic x-ray equipment and support systems to include HIS, RIS, Scheduling System, PACS and offsite Radiologist Services
- Utilizes department computer systems, PACS, to review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies.
- Properly cares for and images patients of all ages; maintains patient confidentiality.
- Coordinates exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care; demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and proper communication with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality patient care.
- Handles telephone calls for scheduling, coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy.
- Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies coordinator of equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as needed.
- Keeps area properly supplied.
- Accesses and administers drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures.
