Health First Careers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDS Outpatient Coder III to join our Coding and Documentation team in Melbourne, Florida. As a CDS Outpatient Coder III, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely coding and documentation for our outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and accurately code outpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Ensure compliance with all coding and documentation guidelines and regulations
- Conduct thorough documentation reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding
- Stay updated on all coding and documentation changes and updates
- Provide education and training to coding and documentation staff as needed
- Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
- Minimum of 3 years of outpatient coding experience in a healthcare setting
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong understanding of coding and documentation guidelines and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems and coding software
