Job Summary:
As a Dosimetrist at Health First Careers, you will play a crucial role in the treatment of cancer patients by accurately calculating and delivering radiation doses. You will work closely with our team of radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists to develop treatment plans that are tailored to each patient's unique needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform treatment planning using advanced computer software and imaging technology
- Calculate radiation doses and ensure accuracy and safety of treatment plans
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to develop and modify treatment plans
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress during treatment and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatment plans and patient progress
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations
- Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in radiation oncology technology and techniques
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Dosimetry or related field
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) credential
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dosimetrist in a radiation oncology setting
- Proficiency in treatment planning software and imaging technology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Work Experience
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Graduate of a formerly organized hospital or affiliated medical dosimetry program with clinical and classroom curriculum and other training.
- And/or experience as a medical dosimetrist so that the total duration of study, training and experience is at least 18 months.
- Or a B.A. or B.S. degree with a major in the physical or biological sciences.
- Or is a registered radiation therapy technologist.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize time in order to maximize quality, value, and service.
- Ability to relate well to all customers (internal and external).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted.
- Visual acuity and good hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.
- Manual dexterity to handle fragile test equipment and minimize (and avoid) damage.
