Health First Careers is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Health Information Tech II to join our Health Information Services team. As a Health Information Tech II, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining patient health information in a timely and accurate manner. This is a full-time position located in Rockledge, Florida in Brevard County.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze patient health records for completeness and accuracy
- Enter and update patient information into electronic health record systems
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to health information management
- Respond to requests for patient health information from healthcare providers and other authorized individuals
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information at all times
- Collaborate with other members of the Health Information Services team to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Participate in training and education programs to stay current on industry standards and best practices
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in health information management or related field
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems and medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to health information management

Work Experience
- High school graduate.
- Previous healthcare related experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel programs.
- Basic knowledge of Joint Commission and HIPAA preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Visual acuity to include viewing PC monitor for extended amount of time.
- Ability to enter data using and prep charts using hand/wrist dexterity.
- Ability to appropriately transport 25 pounds of medical records.
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend or stoop.
- Ability to travel to all facilities/campuses across the IDN.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and electronic mail.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to enter and retrieve data from electronic systems.
