What are the responsibilities and job description for the Individual Giving Specialist - Health First Foundation position at Health First Design Studio?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Individual Giving Specialist will cultivate and secure leadership level annual and major philanthropic gifts in support of Health First’s not-for-profit programs and services through direct interaction with a portfolio of 100 to 125 donors and prospects.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
1. Engage, manage and maintain a portfolio of 100 to 125 individual giving prospects and donors; cultivate and solicit gifts; and effectively steward charitable giving to achieve Foundation objectives.
2. Achieve monthly goals for prospect/donor visits for cultivation and solicitation purposes; prepare visit reports and follow up correspondence.
3. Identify, cultivate and solicit prospects for major gifts and bequests in partnership with Foundation leadership.
4. Collaborate with Donor Relations team to engage donors and prospective donors in cultivation and stewardship events.
5. Contribute to a comprehensive prospect or moves management plan to achieve fundraising goals. Record all moves and activities with prospects and donors in Foundation database.
6. Serve as the giving officer assigned to service areas as needed, working with the program staff and clinicians to identify, solicit and steward grateful patients to service area.
7. Support special giving programs, such as the Golf Classic, by engaging, soliciting and stewarding corporate support as needed.
Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.- Work Experience: Three (3) years in fundraising, relationship management, or relevant field.

- Certification: None
- Work Experience in Lieu of Education: Five (5) years of fundraising experience.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
o MS Office products and other software related to field/role.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
o Time management including ability to work independently.
o Flexibility to work beyond normal business hours.
o Initiative, goal oriented.
o Strong attention to detail.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience: Five (5) years of experience working within a fundraising portfolio.- Certification: Certified Fundraising Executive (CFE).
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
o Blackbaud/Raisers Edge.
o Experience in prospect research/identification and proposal writing.
o Public speaking.
o Project management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.- Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
- Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
- May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
- Workspace may vary from open to confined, onsite, or remote.
- May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
