Job Details
A large system in Nebraska / Iowa are looking for Night ICU RN's. 13 Weeks, Every other Weekend / Holiday. Open Heart Trained.
Job Requirements
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Department : ICU RN.
of Beds : 33 beds, average daily census is 16.
Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 2-3 for adults, 1 : 2-4 for Peds.
Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Adults and Pediatrics, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress.
Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes.
Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation.
Schedule Information
Shifts & Scheduling : 0630-1830, 1830-0630.
Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block scheduling.
Weekend Requirements : Every other.
Holiday Requirements : Rotating based on weekend group.
Floating Requirements : Typically to PCU, possibly to MedSurg.
How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : 3 shifts.
Unit Specific Information
Are RNs required to do anything with RT Equipment besides trouble shoot? : Nasal cannula to vent.
Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : RNs required to read and interpret.
Additional Details
Health Support Tech M-F 0800-1630.
RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.)
RNs required to read and interpret.
No blocked scheduling or same schedule / shifts, must be flexible and willing to float and work when needed.
