A large system in Nebraska / Iowa are looking for Night ICU RN's.

13 Weeks
Every other Weekend / Holiday
0630-1830, 1830-0630
Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in
Unable to guarantee block scheduling
Additional Details
Department : ICU RN
WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE / SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED
of Beds : 33 beds, average daily census is 16
Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 2-3 for adults, 1 : 2-4 for Peds
Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Adults and Pediatrics, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress
Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes
Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation
Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Health Support Tech M-F 0800-1630
RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : Nasal cannula to vent
Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : RNs required to read and interpret
Weekend Requirements : Every other
Holiday Requirements : Rotating based on weekend group
Floating Requirements : Typically to PCU, possibly to MedSurg
How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : 3 shifts
