Certification Details BLS ACLS NIHSS Job Details A large system in Nebraska / Iowa are looking for Night PCU RN's. 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed. 2 years of unit experience. Job Requirements 2 years of unit experience. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Schedule Information 12 hour shifts : 0630-1830, 1830-0630. Weekend Requirements : Every third. Holiday Requirements : Rotating with perm staff. Floating Requirements : Yes to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients. Unit Specific Information 1 week of unit / department specific orientation. Looking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the way. A nurse on this unit is successful if they are a team player, are flexible and adaptable, and have good communication skills. Different cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and Somalian. Additional Details WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE / SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED. Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Adults, Cardiac med / surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure. RNs required to titrate drips : Yes. Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin. Charge Nurse on each shift : Yes, does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes. Nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit : Yes, 1 : 12. RT Equipment : High flow, RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : Yes.
