Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) Health and specialty Care systems (HSCS) department seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Systems Analyst IV to support Electronic Health Records (EHR) Applications. The analyst performs analytical, and systems administrations work for information systems and technologies to support the State Hospitals(SH’s) and State Supported Living Centers (SSLCs), The analyst will support multiple third-party applications (Cerner’s Millennium, Netsmart’s myAvatar, and IRIS_DSS, among others). The analyst is selected by and accountable to the Manager, Health & Specialty Care System Applications (HSCS).
Work involves gathering and analyzing requirements, design and implementation, and on-going maintenance of existing systems and processes. Analyst will work with other HSCS staff as well as other HHSC staff to develop and support information systems. The analyst may interact with staff from other agencies and outside entities as required to provide continued support, obtain required work products, or for consultation.
Essential Job Functions:
Supports in troubleshooting and solving complex problems related to EHR system software and hardware incidents and problem calls, and in the processing of service requests and tasks.
May provide on-call application support as part of the support team based on team rosters.
Develops programming logic to ensure user requests are properly translated into useful software programs.
Provides technical expertise to aid in decision making and problem resolution for EHR applications.
Participates in database design sessions for new initiatives and for enhancements to ensure requirements are met.
Extracts data from Cerner Millennium or myAvatar application databases using existing tools.
Build data mappings using Informatica Tools to load into warehouse databases.
Documents, designs, validates, and implements reporting methodologies for multiple areas of specialization using selected HHSC methodology and tools.
Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.
Performs quality assurance tasks to ensure accuracy of fixes provided to resolve issues.
Documents processes and procedures for technical and non-technical users.
Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of relational databases and database development best practices.

Skill in using server OS in Unix/Linux/AIX and Windows servers

Experience with data engineering, including acquisition/ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter.

Required:
Graduation from an accredited college or university. May substitute direct work experience on a year-for-year basis.
Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience as an Analyst or similar job function.
Preferred:
Experience using Microsoft office suites is preferred.
Any experience in using Unix/Linux/AIX OS is preferred
Any experience in using SQL, PL/SQL is preferred
Any experience in using software tools such as informatica, Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD/Golden is preferred
Any experience in data extraction, transition, and load (ETL) tools, database design and implementation are preferred
Any experience in a using EHR application in a largescale private/public environment is preferred
Additional Information:
This position can telework 100% from any location in Texas consistent with HHS telework policies. Applicants from outside Texas must be willing to relocate within 30 days of hire.
