HLA's Mental Health Advocacy Program for Kids (MHAP for Kids) diverts children with unmet mental health needs from the juvenile justice system by helping them access mental health services. MHAP for Kids attorneys are embedded in Family Resource Centers (FRCs) where they help at-risk youth overcome barriers to mental health services. A Boston University study of MHAP for Kids found that the program improves the health of children and their families. MHAP for Kids has received state funding since 2018 to implement this work and expand statewide.
Position Summary
The Development and Executive Assistant plays a vital role in advancing our mission by supporting development activities and the administrative needs of the Executive and Deputy Directors. This position involves managing day-to-day administrative tasks such as handling correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining accurate records. Strong organizational skills, a commitment to our mission, and the ability to handle multiple priorities with professionalism are essential. Proficiency in office software, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for non-profit work will help drive our mission forward.

Duties and Responsibilities
Development
Working closely with the Manager of Donor Relations and Events, support fundraising activities and marketing. Specific duties include:
- Assist with logistics for our fall Benefit Breakfast and our Spring Soiree
- Support mailings to donors (printing, stuffing, collating, printing notecards)
- Enter donor and gift details into database
- Create or revamp HLA marketing materials for donors and community outreach
- Collect content from staff and/or attend events and post on social media sites
- Coordinate production of flyers, brochures, information sheets (including arranging for translations into other languages)
- Support the publication of the quarterly newsletter
Working closely with the Deputy Director, support activities to secure state funding for MHAP for Kids. Specific duties include:
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for lobbying activities
- Track lobbying activities and
- Maintain contact with legislative offices to schedule meetings and appointments
- Support the drafting of fact sheets, letters to legislatures, presentations and other documents
Executive Support
- Maintain the calendars of the Executive and Deputy Directors, ensuring that all internal and external meetings are accurately displayed, with locations and/or videoconferencing links as appropriate
- Manage communication with the Board of Directors
- Coordinate logistics for staff and board meetings
- Other duties as assigned

In addition, requirements specific to this position are:
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to communicate HLA's mission and activities to various constituencies
- Knack for technology
- Experience with Constant Contact is a plus
- Data entry experience with APLOS or similar database
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
