The Rural Specialist Locum Program (RSLP) provides coverage for travel and accommodations when following program guidelines. Depending on journey length, physicians may earn up to $1,560 for travel time costs. The program also reimburses reasonable transportation and lodging expenses, as outlined in current policy terms.

Compensation

Compensation Type Combination Estimated Remuneration As a general adult psychiatrist in Trail, you'll earn between $350,000-$550,000, thanks to the fee-for-service model, sessional contracts, and MOCAP level 2. Physician Overhead If you're feeling inspired to launch a private practice, we say follow your dreams! Just bear in mind that overhead costs will be part of the equation.

Benefits and Incentives

Vacation Leave With flexible scheduling, you'll have ample time to recharge and unwind. May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 11.48% Retention Flat Fee $17,790 Relocation Funding Available $9,000 if moving within BC, $12,000 within Canada, and $15,000 from outside Canada Recruitment Incentive $15,000, prorated for physicians working less than full time. Other Benefits/Incentives With RCME, you’ll be eligible to receive $600 for up to 2 years in Trail, $3,600 during your 3rd and 4th year, and $6,600 after 4 years, in addition to the Doctors of BC CME funds. Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
