Northern Health is seeking a Clinical Psychiatrist to join the Department of Psychiatry in Prince George at the site.
We welcome all interested candidates, including new in practice physicians and those holding a provisional license!
UHNBC is the Regional Hospital for Northern BC serving both the immediate population of Prince George (approximately 87,000) and is a referral center for outlying communities (total population approximately 400,000). It is the main teaching center for Medical Students in the Northern Medical Program of UBC and provides teaching for UBC Residents in several specialties. A Cancer Centre opened on the hospital site in the fall of 2012 which includes Radiation and Medical Oncology. The ongoing development of UHNBC as a Regional Center and teaching center makes this an exciting time to join the Medical community in Prince George.
Prince George is the centre of business, education, health and culture for northern British Columbia and services a rural population of about 400,000. The region’s economic growth and diversification strategies are creating outstanding opportunities for investors, employers and employees. Affordable housing, land prices and transportation costs result in one of the lowest costs of living for a city of its size in the province. Additionally, wage rates fall above provincial averages, providing residents of Prince George with a high standard of living in one of BC’s most beautiful regions.
The city itself is the 4th largest in British Columbia and has a population of approximately 87,000. It is built on the confluence of the Fraser and Nechako rivers. May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 12.6% Retention Flat Fee $19,526 Relocation Funding Available $9,000-15,000 Recruitment Incentive $15,000 Other Benefits/Incentives $15,000 if relocating from outside of Canada: $12,000 if relocating within Canada but outside of BC; $9,000 if relocating within BC.
