What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Licensing and Contracting - Medicare position at Health Plan One?
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the management of a team that acts as a liaison between agents and the carriers that they represent to ensure agents are properly set up to succeed. This includes contracting, licensing, appointments, and certifications.
· Oversee all aspects of the credentialing/recredentialing of licensed health agents according to carrier partner guidelines and state DOI guidelines.
· Review, manage and enhance, when necessary, all processes/workflows to ensure that accurate information is being ingested into licensing/contracting database.
· Responsible for identifying opportunities to create semi automation/full automation and reduce manual processes. Work closely with the Technology team to research and implement changes.
· Assist in overseeing the successful implementation of AgentSync (new licensing and appointment management system).
· Serves as a knowledgeable resource and represents the department on project teams, internal meetings, and external carrier meetings.
· Perform weekly 1:1 with contracting & licensing manager to review team activity, goals, and performance.
· Act as a SME to all internal partners regarding license concerns pertaining to DOI background issues, insurance regulations issues (FINRA’s), etc. Act as a SME regarding carrier release issues
· Working closely with Finance in the development of the departmental budget and helps to control expenses while meeting operational requirements.
· Responsible for the management of the licensing & contracting department; establishing, implementing, and monitoring team goals and metrics.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· 5 years state DOI licensing and Insurance Carrier Appointment experience (agent licensing, agency licensing, DRLP, CE’s)
· 5 years in a managerial position driving results and taking initiative (prioritizing workload/projects, creating and implementing process), tracking team metrics.
· Bachelor's degree
· Ability to think strategically and manage towards established goals.
· Excellent verbal, telephone, and written communication skills
· Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (V-Lookup and pivot tables, Macros)
· Strong time management and organization skills
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
· Experience with AgentSync
· Utilization of Python
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typically in an office environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
· Ability to travel 25%
