The practice has locations in Carmel, Newburgh, Mount Kisco, and Fishkill, New York, and another in Danbury, Connecticut. Danbury is also the home of its Orthopaedic & Specialty Surgery Center, a leading multi-specialty surgical facility.
Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group physicians are board-certified, having completed extensive training at leading medical institutions across the United States. Team members specialize in all aspects of orthopaedic care, treating knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, foot, and ankle pain. They also diagnose and treat a comprehensive range of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions responsible for neck and back pain.
Somers Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine is currently looking for a full-time/part-time X-Ray Technologists to perform radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. The candidate will perform technological functions to ensure the optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
- Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
Education & Training
- Associates degree or bachelor's degree in applied radiologic science or certification from an accredited radiologic technology program. Licensed and Registered in the state of New York and /or Connecticut Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Knowledge & Experience
- Knowledge of radiographic examinations, radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.
- Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning techniques.
Salary: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
**This position will require travel to Mt. Kisco, Newburgh & Fishkill, to support coverage
