Behavioral Health Driver

Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Driver/Transporter is responsible for safely transporting individuals in need of behavioral health services to and from appointments. This role requires a compassionate and respectful approach to clients while ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a vehicle to transport patients to appointments.
• Assist clients in entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Provide a supportive and caring environment during transport, addressing any concerns or needs of patients.
• Maintain accurate records of transport schedules, mileage, and patient details.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations during driving.
• Regularly inspect the vehicle to ensure it is clean, well-maintained, and in good working order.
• Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to understand the needs of patients and support their treatment plans.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in behavioral health or social services is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients and staff.
• Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of behavioral health issues is an advantage.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Position may involve driving for long periods and working with patients who may exhibit challenging behaviors.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and assist clients, including those with mobility challenges.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods and perform minor physical tasks as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
