We have 11 clinics located throughout the River Region, 2 mobile clinics, and 4 school-based clinics in partnership with Montgomery Public Schools
HSI is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The LPN participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, within the objectives, standards and policies of the department and within the parameters of his or her preparation as a licensed professional nurse.
This position typically works a standard schedule of 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday, however, schedule adjustments may be necessary based on need.
Job Duties:
- Performs special medical procedures, within LPN training, including venipunctures, as related to-the unit.
- Provides complete provider assistance, specialized treatments and patient referrals as assigned.
- Administers all medications as ordered, within the scope of LPN licensure.
- Provides patient education and assists other support personnel in patient education.
- Completes all encounters according to protocol and returns them to the designated patient or location.
- Participates in emergency care, as ordered, under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
- Daily stocks and cleans assigned patient treatment rooms, nurses' station, and other assigned areas.
- Works evening clinic and rotates to other clinical sites as assigned by the DON or charge RN Coordinator.
- Supports and enforces infection control policies and procedures.
- Ensures a safe healthcare environment by keeping exam areas and equipment clean, safe, and orderly.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a formal licensed practical nurse educational program with a current, unrestricted, Alabama license.
- Certified in BCLS and willing to obtain certification in IV Therapy, and venipuncture,
- At least one (1) year experience preferred.
