What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional MDS Support Nurse position at Health Services Management FL?
The Regional MDS Support Nurse is responsible for working with HSM community leadership teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of resident assessments.
Qualifications
- Must have and maintain an unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure issued by the State Board of Nursing.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations specific to nursing home operation and licensure.
- Must be familiar with and have extensive experience with the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI/MDS). Certification (RAC-CT) preferred.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with residents, families, vendors, visitors, government agencies, facility staff, hospital personnel, hospice representatives, and the general public.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and supervise within the prescribed scope of practice for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state.
- Conduct and coordinate the development and completion of the resident MDS and individualized care plans per regulation and facility policy where support is needed.
- Ensure MDS’ are complete and accurate before submission to CMS. Submit an MDS correction as needed to ensure we transmit accurate data.
Location
- While this position is designated as hybrid-remote, there is an expectation that qualified candidates will be located in the general region where we operate. This includes either the Houston, TX or North/Central Gulf Coast, FL market.
- Some travel may be required as interaction with interdisciplinary care teams will be required.
