Intake Specialist

The Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting by serving as the first point of contact for patients. This position is responsible for gathering essential information, ensuring a smooth intake process, and providing exceptional patient service. Duties

• Greet patients and assist them with the intake process, ensuring all necessary information is collected accurately.
• Utilize ICANOTES and other electronic health record systems to input patient data and manage files.
• Verify patient insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
• Communicate effectively with patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding their visit.
• Collaborate with medical office management to streamline processes and improve patient flow.
• Demonstrate proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry tasks.
• Assist in filing and organizing patient records to ensure easy retrieval and compliance with clinic standards.

Skills

• Strong patient service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the clinic.
• Experience with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems is preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse patient populations.
• Proficient in 10 key typing for efficient data entry tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing individual responsibilities effectively.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and files in a busy medical office environment.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
